Hair Dyeing Question?

I have long blond hair right now (rock look) and I'm thinking about getting my hair cut short about 1 inch , and have it dyed dark green.

I haven't really taken much care of it just wash it with shampoo Will dye screw it up?

Is that a good idea?

Hair Dyeing Question?

well cutting it will definetly make it healthier, but when you want to grow it out again, it will be a pain in the ***.

why green?? dye wont screw it up, especially if your cutting it all off. the only problem with those crazy colors like green and pink is that they fade really quick, so it'll look great the first few weeks, but then it'll fade and look like food coloring.

i think cutting it short but keeping it blonde, and maybe just adding a few crazy highlights is a better idea.

good luck.

Hair Dyeing Question?

...why green....

Hair Dyeing Question?

don't ruin your hair!

yes, dying it will damage it.

i dont think you should...

trying talking to your hair stylist

Hair Dyeing Question?

it doesn't sound pretty at all. It definetely will need a filler to fill on the blonde porous hair. I wouldn't reccommend it unless you plan on keeping it for a long time, it will be hard to get out. Don't forget to condition.

Hair Dyeing Question?

considering you dont take good care of it dyeing it green wont cause much damage

what will on the other hand is the possible need to bleach it to get the correct green color but considering you only want 1 inch of hair I don't think you should really be worrying about what kind of condition it's in

Hair Dyeing Question?

No, not really a good idea. Since you have blond hair, you will always have a hint of green in there, and it will look like you just are always in the pool. LOL.... Besides, if you haven't ever dyed your hair, I recommend not getting started, cuz once you do, you're always touching it up and having to maintain it. Plus, it's pretty damaging. :o\

Hair Dyeing Question?

dye it back, please! Iknow about expressing yourself and being unique, but you don't want to look like a marker!

Hair Dyeing Question?

well if you want the green to really set in your hair and make it bright you will need to bleach it first then apply the green dye. I'd reccomend doing a hot oil or cholesterol treatment to your hair before dying it just to protect it from the bleach and dye. When I do pink highlights in my daughters hair thats what I always do

Hair Dyeing Question?

If you want to "color" your hair green, that's your choice but once you start coloring your hair, you are prone to dryness, %26amp; maybe frizziness if you don't use conditioner on it after each shampoo. Once you color your hair, you'll have to let it grow completely out, before you use another color, if that's in your future. After you get your hair colored, get just the ends trimmed every six weeks, so as to get rid of the dryness. Pantene makes a great shampoo/conditioner all in one %26amp; they also make a great condtioner that you spray in/leave in. Just comb it through to the ends %26amp; blot your hair with a towel so as not to have it dripping on your shirt. Both products work great.

Hair Dyeing Question?

Green and blue are the most difficult colors to get to stay in the hair. The hair must be lightened up to very pale blond to show up well. It also leaves the hair quickly. Just cutting your hair is going to be a huge change. Start with that you can always do a color thing later when you are wanting a change.
